Previously a brownfield site, the NOVA Power Bank project in Menifee, California creates 680 megawatts of energy storage with the ability to power as many as 680,000 homes for 4 hours. The Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) project built both battery storage and (3) 34.5-500kV substations which will ultimately power customers of Southern California Edison, Peninsula Clean Energy and San Diego Gas and Electric.
CBI Power, Inc. services included subgrade preparation, drilled pier foundations, grounding, conduit trenching and installation, precast cable tray and fiber cabling along with all fine grading and surface rock install ready for energization.
CBI Power was trusted with the challenging task of completing all associated civil works (as mentioned above) in a 2.5-month schedule. CBI Power utilized 4 crews working simultaneously on each substation on a 6-10 shift schedule to finish 1 week ahead of master schedule.
