LocationHuron, California
The Fifth Standard Solar Facility is a 150-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) facility with an onsite 20Mw solar PV generation facility and a 20Mw energy storage system. Power would tie into an existing transmission substation owned by PG&E (Gates Substation) is located approximately 0.4 mile southwest of the Project site. An overhead generation tie (gen-tie) line would convey electricity generated at the Project site to the Gates Substation for distribution to customers within the local and regional grid by PG&E. The gen-tie line would require approximately 0.5 mile of 230-kilovolt (kV), single-circuit overhead electric transmission line to connect the Project site to the Gates Substation.
On completion the project will consist of 369,334 photovoltaic panels and cover approximately 1,600 acres. The solar farm will have the capacity to generate enough green electricity to power more than 26,000 homes.
Clark Bros, Inc. provided site grading, road subgrade, gravel road, substation fill and BESS fill.
