Pedro Cortez

Pedro Cortez serves as the Director of Renewable Energy at Clark Bros., Inc., where he leads all Renewable Energy Project Managers and oversees the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of projects across the division. He is responsible for ensuring alignment with company goals, maintaining strong operational performance, and driving profitability across renewable energy initiatives.

Pedro began his career with CBI 13 years ago as a laborer and quickly expanded into surveying for heavy earthwork crews. His dedication and technical curiosity propelled him into heavy equipment operation, followed by a foreman role on a major canal liner project in Bakersfield. Over the years, he has steadily advanced through increasingly complex roles, developing deep expertise in civil construction and earning a reputation for strong leadership in the field. In 2025, he stepped into his current role as Director of Renewable Energy, continuing his commitment to support CBI’s growth in the renewable sector.

With a background built entirely through hands-on experience, Pedro’s education has come directly from field learning, leading, and problem-solving alongside construction teams at every stage of project delivery. His practical knowledge and real-world perspective shape his approach to project management and team leadership.

Among his many contributions, Pedro is especially proud of his work on the Westside BESS project in El Centro, a milestone achievement for the company’s renewable energy portfolio. His leadership and impact were further recognized when he received the 2022 Allen Clark Leadership Award, honoring his dedication, performance, and commitment to CBI’s values.
