WESTSIDE MAIN CANAL BRIDGE

  • Year2022

  • LocationImperial County, California

Built to provide permanent vehicle access to the Westside Battery Storage Facility, the project required construction of private access roads on both the north and south side of the proposed bridge to connect the facility to county owned Liebert Rd. The project entailed construction of a 23.5-ft wide and 104-ft long bridge supported by (3) Precast/Prestressed girders with (16) 24- inch concrete pile abutments. Roadway access to both the north and south of the bridge approach was constructed using over 7,800 tons of Class 2 aggregate base and 8,500 cubic yards of imported fill for embankment construction. Construction of the bridge and associated infrastructure was completed in three months.
